Privacy Policy

1. Who this notice is from. This notice explains how Pixelfield Horizon handles personal information in connection with this website and with enquiries sent to us. Pixelfield Horizon is the business responsible for that information. Its address, phone number and email are repeated in section 15. We wrote the notice with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in Japan (APPI) in mind and tried to keep it readable without a law degree.

2. What this site does not do.The site has no user accounts, no comment sections, no shop and no mailing-list sign-up. It loads no analytics, advertising tags, tracking pixels, social media widgets or embedded maps. The typefaces and scripts used by the pages are served from the same address as the pages themselves, so opening a page does not send your visit to a font service or to any other outside company.

3. What we receive, and how.We receive personal information only when you contact us: by email, by phone or through one of the enquiry forms on this site. That is normally your name, your email address, a phone number if you choose to add one, and whatever you write about your project. If you attach files or send links to existing work, we receive those as well.

4. How the enquiry form works. The forms do not send anything from this site. When you press the send button, the page assembles an email from what you typed and hands it to the mail program on your own device, with our address already filled in. The message leaves your device only when you send it from that mail program. Until then nothing has reached us, and this site keeps no copy of it.

If no mail program opens, write to the address in section 15 instead. The checkbox beside the button is a reminder to read this notice before you send; its value is not added to your message.

5. Why we use it.We use what you send to answer your enquiry, to prepare a quotation, to carry out the work once a quotation is accepted, to keep in touch while a project is open, to meet bookkeeping and tax duties, and to deal with requests made under this notice.

We do not use enquiries for newsletters, advertising mailings or profiling. If we ever want to use your details for something not listed here, we will ask you first.

6. Cookies and browser storage. This site sets one cookie. When you press the "Understood" button on the notice at the bottom of a page, your browser stores a first-party cookie named iecc with the value seen. It lasts about six months (180 days) so that the notice does not come back on every page. It contains no personal information and is read only by this site's own script.

Nothing else is written to cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage. You can delete the cookie in your browser settings whenever you like; the notice will then appear again. Phone numbers and email addresses on the pages are ordinary links and set nothing.

7. Server logs.Like any website, the server that delivers these pages may record technical data such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser type. That is done by the hosting company for security and operation. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors. If that changes, we will say so on this page.

8. Sharing with others. We do not sell personal information and we do not pass it to third parties for their own use. Your messages sit in our mailbox, which is run by an email service provider acting on our behalf. We disclose information when the law requires it, for example in answer to a lawful request from a court or an authority.

If a project needs a printer, a developer or another partner to see your material, we tell you first and share only what that step needs.

9. Servers outside Japan.Email and hosting providers sometimes keep data on servers in other countries. If that applies to ours, the data remains protected by that provider's own security measures. On request we will tell you which country is involved once we have confirmed it with the provider.

10. How long we keep it.Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within two years of the last message. For projects, we keep correspondence and quotations while the work is open and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. When the period ends, the records are deleted.

11. Security. We keep correspondence in password-protected mail accounts and on devices that only the people dealing with your enquiry can use. No method of sending information is perfectly safe, so please do not put identity documents, payment card numbers or other sensitive details into the form or into an ordinary email. If your material is confidential, say so in your first message and we will agree how to exchange it.

12. Your rights and how to use them.Under the APPI you may ask us to disclose the personal information we hold about you, to correct or add to it, to delete it or to stop using it. To make a request, write to the email address in section 15 or send a letter to our address.

We first check that the request comes from you, for example by asking you to write from the email address you used before. We then answer without undue delay. If a fee applies to a disclosure request, we tell you the amount before we proceed.

13. Children. The site is meant for people who commission design work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us details, write to us and we will delete them.

14. Changes to this notice. We update this page when the site or the way we handle information changes, and we change the date at the top. The version published here is the one that applies.

15. Contact and responsible person.Pixelfield Horizon, 1-3-18 Ekimaecho, Fukuchiyama, Kyoto 620-0045, Japan. Email: hello@pixelfieldhorizon.com. Phone: +81 773-63-9466, weekdays 10:00-18:00 (JST), closed on national holidays.
